About Christina
Born and raised in Toronto, Christina Leonard is a queer actor working in theatre, film, and voice-over. She began her professional training at Humber College in the Theatre Performance program, where she graduated top of her class and received an Academic Award of Excellence and a President’s Letter.
With Humber’s physical approach to acting, Christina developed a high level of kinesthetic awareness, resulting in fully embodied characters and an ability to remain attuned to the present moment. Her experience and training in devised theatre has allowed Christina to develop her own creative voice and an open and collaborative approach to creating with others. She not only excels at taking direction, but also in bringing her own ideas and propositions to the table.
Since graduating, Christina has performed in a variety of plays, short films, and web series. She hit the road and toured throughout the USA with Theatre of the Beat, playing the lead role of Sam in This Will Lead to Dancing, a play promoting LGBTQ+ inclusivity within the Mennonite Church. Christina has also toured across Canada performing in plays and musicals for young audiences. Her jazz improvisation skills were featured in Aquarius Players’ outdoor site-specific production of The Taming of the Shrew, in which she guided the audience to different locations with her alto saxophone, as well as clowning it up as Biondello, Curtis, and the Tailor.
You can catch Christina on Seeka TV in the sci-fi web series Illuminagents. She won Best Performance in a Fantasy or Sci-Fi at the 2020 New Jersey Web Fest for her starring role as Nara Mason.
Most recently, Christina has begun working in the field of voice-over, focusing mainly on animation and commercial work. From her booth at home, she has recorded with clients all over the world. Christina is currently playing Storm on the pre-school animated series Super Wings! She keeps her skills sharp by training with coach extraordinaire Melissa Altro (Muffy on Arthur).
When not performing, Christina enjoys hiking with her family and friends, practicing Tai Chi, and escaping from rooms.
